Biography

Takuma YASUDA received his Ph.D. in 2005 from Tokyo Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Takakazu Yamamoto. After completing postdoctoral research with Prof. Takashi Kato at the University of Tokyo, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo in 2008. In 2010, he moved to Kyushu University where he joined Prof. Chihaya Adachi’s group as Associate Professor. He was also a concurrent researcher of JST-PRESTO from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, he was appointed Professor at the INAMORI Frontier Research Center of Kyushu University. From 2022 to present, he has been Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study, Kyushu University. His research is directed towards the design, synthesis, functionalization, and device applications of electro- and photo-active π-conjugated molecular materials. His current research interests include pioneering a new organic excitonics field aimed at unexplored and innovative functions. To date, he has published over 150 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, which have been cited over 11,000 times with an h-index of 59. He has received Ichimura Prize in Science for Excellent Achievement (2024), SSOCJ Fujifilm Award for Functional Materials Chemistry (2022), Marubun Academic Award (2018), the Young Scientists’ Prize, the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (2015), and the Chemical Society of Japan Award for Young Chemists (2014).
